Leonardo Neves

Leonardo Neves began dancing at 8 years old as a part of an after school program.
He then spent 6 years attending various dance schools he studied Bolero, Soltinho, Samba and Forro and at 14 years of age, he attended Renata and Adilio’s Dance School, where he studied Zouk and other Brazilian styles of dance for 7 Years.
He competed with various dance partners and won the 1st Place in the “Onda Zouk“ Competition. He eventually became the dance partner of Renata Pechana and taught and performed with her nationally.
From 2009 to 2012 he taught and performed nationally, teaching and performing to events ranging from small events to some of the biggest Congresses in the World.
By now a renown and recognized teacher within the dance scene, Leo began working with Becky Neves in 2013. They have been invited to many festivals and congresses, to share their love of dancing around the world. In 2014 and beginning of 2015 Leo and Becky were chosen to become a part of Brazouka and began a world tour.

Becky Neves

Becky began dancing and studying dance in high school.
She learnt to choreograph and film different styles of dance and then moved into Latin American Dancing at Colleen Murray Dance Studio; studying the Latin American genres.
She competed in local Dancesport competitions in her level and was placed every time he competed. Within 10 months of training she had competed in one of the biggest dance competitions in New Zealand – the ISDF. She was also selected to go to Australia to dance on a television program called ‘Strictly Dancing’.
After a number of years, she started dancing more of the Street Latin Styles with Latin Fire and performed and competed with them for a number of years. Becky entered into the South Islands (Teachers Level), the Nationals (Professional level) and even started a Bachata Team which she trained and took to the New Zealand Pacific Salsa Congress. Her team was selected to Perform in Australia at the Sydney Salsa Congress.
Becky then began her interest in Zouk and Samba and travelled to Brazil to expand her knowledge in these styles. At the beginning of 2013 Becky started her new career with Leo Neves. Since then they have been invited to many festivals and congresses, and in 2014 Leo and Becky were selected to become a part of Brazouka – a Brazilian Dance Show touring the world. Today she co-owns and operates Brazilian Beatz, a dance studio in Christchurch, with Leonardo Neves.
