Ulysses loves to perform, and it is this passion that has taken him to congresses all over the world, including Australia, America, Europe, New Zealand, and all over South East Asia.
He has competed professionally since 2007, and has won the title of Australia Salsa Champion 3 times in Salsa and twice in Bachata. He and Jasmin also competed at the World Salsa Championships in 2010 and 2011.
As team leader of Modus Vivendi Project, Ulysses has worked with this team since 2007, taking them travelling to every major event to both perform and compete wherever possible.
He has also taught choreographies for the Annual Balls and Christmas Concerts of the major Salsa schools around Sydney, always creating musical and fun routines that push his students to their limits.
Ulysses arrived from England in 1998 and found the sunshine to his liking. He practiced Capoeira for 3 years until he discovered Salsa and fell in love. He started dancing in 2002 and has never looked back. Since becoming a teacher in 2005, he has branched out into Hip Hop, Zouk, Kizomba, Cha-Cha, Bachata, and, of course, Salsa On1 and On2.
Ulysses started teaching in 2005 and has excelled in his ability to break complex moves down into their constituent parts in an easy to understand way, while keeping a class fun and upbeat.
It is this technical mindset and expertise that allows his students to progress quickly, with a firm understanding of the fundamentals that underlie each move.
