Santino Di Fede is a UKA qualified instructor, which is recognised by the World Dance Council. He is the current Australian Bachata Champion and the director of Australia’s number one Cuban event, the Sydney Cuban Salsa Congress.
He has been dancing salsa for over 10 years and is also a previous grand finalist of the official British Salsa & Merengue Championship, placing 3rd.
Santino’s passion is Cuban dance, music and culture, as well as Dominican Bachata. He has travelled to both Cuba and Dominican Republic extensively for personal training. He has a genuine love for Latin culture and is a passionate traveler, having visited almost all the Latin American countries.
Since moving to Australia in 2007, he has established the first and only annual Sydney Cuban Salsa Congress, managed a leading Cuban dance school, was crowned Australian Rueda de Casino Champion, and represented Australia at the World Championship in Munich.
With a thirst for knowledge in Cuban dance, Santino considers himself a student first, and a teacher second. Expect his classes to be both informative, and a little wacky!
Soraya Amor was born in Madrid, Spain, and was a former child Flamenco star. She is a naturally gifted dancer and performer, and was selected to perform at famous clubs in Madrid.
Soraya is also one of only a handful of qualified Kanga trainers in Australia, which is a dance based choreographed workout for mums with bubs. She is also a qualified Zumba instructor.
Soraya first performed at the Sydney International Bachata Festival in 2013 and later that year was crowned NSW Amateur Bachata Champion with a style of Bachata she and her partner and mentor created, Bachamenco, a fusion of Bachata and Flamenco. In 2014 Soraya performed a Bachamenco at the Sydney International Bachata Festival as a professional.
Soraya has twice shared the stage with International Cuban artist Leysis Smith at the Sydney Cuban Salsa Congress, and in 2014 performed a Flamenco show at 34 weeks pregnant. She has performed at the famous Byron Latin Fiesta as well as Portsea Latin Festival and various other Latin events around Sydney, and Australia.
Soraya is also a degree qualified sound technician.
Soraya’s passion is Cuban dance, Bachata, and she has a deep love for Flamenco.
