Johan and Kari
Since coming together as a dance couple early in 2009, Johan and Kari have ignited a passion for bachata in South Australia. Johan began dancing in Malaysia over 7 years ago, while Kari developed a passion for bachata whilst living in the Dominican Republic in 2008. Since then they have won the South Australian Bachata Competition in 2009, and introduced Bachata Moderna into Adelaide through their classes, courses and workshops at various events, including the Adelaide Salsa Ball 2010 and the ZB Festival 2009. Their unique style features exaggerated body movement, with a fusion of traditional, moderna, and other dance styles. Kari and Johan are looking forward to representing Latin Dance Nation as instructors and performers at this years SIBF.
