Carrie’s love of dance began at the age of 3, spending her childhood years training in ballet, ballroom, Rock “n”
Roll, tap and disco. In her adult years, Carrie’s passion has turned to Latin Dance where her enthusiasm and style ensures that she is a stand out on the dance floor. She loves being able to pass on her knowledge and flair for Latin Dance and to see others become addicted to it. Carrie is also a qualified Zumba instructor where her energy and obvious passion is simply infectious!
After cutting up the club dance floors in his youth, Mark discovered Latin dancing and has never looked back. He loves being able to pass on his knowledge and techniques to his students and his clear and concise style of teaching is both refreshing and easy to follow.
After years of developing their love of Latin dance, Carrie & Mark took the next step and opened their own studio in Christchurch on 21 February 2011. The following day a lethal earthquake severely damaged the majority of the city centre and closed their studio for 3 months. When they reopened, they were the only light on in the central city for several weeks.
Although the first year was a little tough, Mark & Carrie continued to share their passion with others and were delighted when their team won the Latin Showcase division at the 2011 NZ National Salsa Championships with a Bachata routine.
