Ben and Kathryn
Ben Benedictos and Kathryn Michie are the principal dancers for Canberra’s hottest Latin dance group, “Latin Heat”. They have performed and taught together at several local, national and international events.
Ben is the pioneer of his signature style, “Bachata Elegante”. He has almost 15 years of dance experience in a wide range of dance styles, including salsa, cha cha, jive, funk, hip hop, jazz, rumba, ballroom, mambo and Argentine tango. He founded Latin Heat dance group in 2007 and has choreographed several salsa and bachata routines that have been performed at festivals all around Australia.
Kathryn started dancing at the age of 5 and has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics and contemporary dance as well as studying a range of traditional styles including Kathak (northern Indian), Cambodian and Pacific Islands dance. Kathryn started Latin dance in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the smooth and sexy rhythms of bachata.
Ben and Kathryn are thrilled to be returning to the SIBF in 2010.
