The Sydney Bachata Festival is proud to present the ONLY Bachata Concert in Australia. For 2013, we are proud to announce, all the way from NEW YORK and DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, the famous Bachata DUET: MONCHY & NATHALIA!

Bachata is indubitably becoming one of the most popular Latin dance forms in clubscenes throughout the world. Few, though, outside the Dominican Republic could have hoped to know the romance and beauty of bachata without the talents of the International Awards Nominated and Winner in the Latin music industry, Monchy, whosename is inextricably linked to this genre’s success. To be sure, bachata was once anobscure musical style enjoyed by rural Dominicans. It is anything but rural now, and thisis largely due to Monchy’s seminal contributions to the industry, with the visionaryguidance of the most successful musical producer in the history of bachata, Martires DeLeon. Their music epitomized the best of the heart-breaking, romantic harmonies, andinfused them with the energetic optimism that put bachata on the map around the globe.Monchy returns to the studio and stage with a new direction, this time round with Monchy & Nathalia.The duo pays homage to the origins of the style, and its evolution tothe center of the popular music canon, with their eponymous debut album. This isrecognizably and without question Monchy at his most self-assured, and mature- nowcomplemented by the deep velvet of Nathalia’s rich vocal quality.
